My travel with air deccan was really a learning experience for me, I had to fly to Delhi for an urgent work, so I called the helpline and booked the tickets to delhi and back. I reached the airport and went to collect my ticket with my PNR number, I gave the PNR number to the lady sitting at the counter & she gave me a blank look and handed over a A4 size paper. When I saw the paper it was a ticket thing, but was only for Mum-Del. So I went back to the counter and asked her for the return ticket, the lady replied so you should have told me that the return is also booked on the same PNR number. I was to collect my boarding pass now, there was a huge Q there and every passenger who had to reach the counter, was suppose to clear the trolleys left by the other passenger & the staff was directing them to which they should push it. The flight was announced to be delayed by an hour as it has not yet landed at the mumbai airport from bangalore, as the hour was coming to an end there was another announcement, that the flight is delayed by another hour as it has just landed from bangalore. I finally reached the aircraft and was welcomed. Now comes the real fun, the crew was demonstrating about the emergency safety kit & after they were thrg came the punchline As we are cost cutting spree & we have noticed that some of the passengers have been taking the LIFE JACKETs with them, so we would request you to report to the crew or the management about the activity if noticed. Some of the passengers were looking at each other, as if the other one has come all the way to aircraft to pick up some life jackets. Now for Food. My seat number was 25A & I asked the hostess for food, she said that it will be served according to the seating arrangements. I told her that if I am suppose to buy it, then why should I wait for my turn, but she wouldnt listen. So by the time food trolley reached me, everything was over and what was left was a couple of water bottles. The same things happened on my return journey, the delay, the LIFE JACKET story. The only thing I could avoid this time was that I got the food, because I had got the seat number to be 7A. My Suggestion to the management is that they can hike the price by Rs.100 or Rs.150/- and arrange for the basic things in flight and for the LIFE JACKET thing, after every flight the crew members should check for the equipments & if anything is found missing, then report it to ground staff about the seat number & make an announcement for the passenger, but stop saying these things in the aircraft which makes everybody feel like the other passenger could be a THEIF & has come to pick some lifejacket.
