Kudos to Air-Deccan management team to change the face of travel in the country. Air-Deccan has made it possible to think of travelling by air on personal visit. I was use to travel by Train - AC- III whenever I go on personal trip. However, as soon as Air-Deccan announced their strategy, I was one of the first to book tickets of my family members by Air-Deccan. However, did not get a chance to fly myself due to flight timings.
I happen to travel on June 20, 2005 from Bangalore to Mumbai with my family and felt to share my view with others.
When one plan to travel by Air-Deccan, the first things comes in the mind is low fares, resulting no free eatable on board as it is no frill airlines.
The staff at the check-in counters are also very poorly dressed, visibly tired, which on first looks, gives a very bad image about the airlines as compare to others, where u see good looking, smiling faces.
On Board, 2 airhostesses at each side were handling the passengers and did not found much courteous / smiling them too.
The maintenance and cleanliness was also not up to the mark, one can see the visible spots, broken body of aircraft.
Eatable were available on sale, however the cost of items are pretty high. Even for example, when I bought a tea, by default, only one sugar sachet was given, as we found very less, requested to give additional sachet, which was declined by the staff and requested us to buy additional tea. I have not seen such attitude not even on airport where coffee day or other counters are supplying tea coffee. I presume, they would like to earn maximum out of this.
The reaction of my kids are, we wont go next time on this. Let us go by other airlines, even if the fairs are higher.
In conclusion, I have decided to use the airlines, when I am going alone, my family has decided to travel by other airlines.
