I travel frequently , therefore sometimes have to prefer low cost airlines. My flights on Deccan have not really been great but then I would still be OK travelling on it .
The whole idea of the flight is to cut out all the luxuries/meals and provide the airways as transport to reduce your travel time. at half the cost of normal airlines, the ticket prices are like a dream. But of course there are the usual problems with technical details, long delays.
the first time I travelled , the flight took off on time and reached on time which was a pleasant surprise having heard a lot of negative feedback on the arilines. But the return journey was painful. The flight was delayed by 6 hours but thankfully it took off.. at the end of it I still reached bangalore ( from delhi) in less time that what a train would have taken.
I have travelled in their ATR too.. it seems like it will never land ;-) absolutely shaky and feels more like a stretch limo ( only for the size of the plane and not for the comforts)
No food on board is ok since is only a couple of hours that u have to survive. It becomes a huge pain when ur flight is standing and not taking off...
at the end , I would still pray to god and buy a deccan ticket ;-)
recommended if
you can stay hungry for some time
have no strong desire to be among good looking air hostesses.
do not pull ur hair if u get delayed by a few hours.
have a backup plan in case ur flight gets cancelled.
dont mind in case u have to pay for water too!
