We had the shock of our lives when my brother’s brand new camera was stolen at the Delhi check-in counter of Air Deccan when he was on way to his flight to Pune. The guy took only the camera worth 25000 rupees which was very small in size & left the camera pouch intact. Also there was Sony PS-2 gaming console & other electronic items which were left untouched since they were of bigger size.
My brother discovered the theft on reaching his house in Pune & when he called up the customer care numbers he was informed that the airline has got no liability & that he should have lodged the complaint when he was at Pune airport as if my brother was to get a dream that this kind of theft has taken place.
We have sent an e-mail to baggage@airdeccan.net as advised by the customer care but I don’t expect anything much to come out of this. This kind of incident was unheard of & I could never in my life have imagined that Air Deccan would employ thieves.
I really don’t know if anything will come out but we will pursue the matter till the very end. We will not give up without a fight.
