A few of my friends and the well wishers decided to go to goa for the holidays. a train to goa would have normally been the choice of the common persons including me. but no not in the day and the age of the low cost, the low frill, and the low expectation airlines like the deccan air, the go air, and the many others. as compared to the full fare commercial airlines like the jet the low cost can bring your cost of flying down by up to the fifty percentage, which means more money spending in the holiday and more shopping for the same.
today I will write the review on the low cost but not cheap deccan air.
many persons call the air deccan the air dhakkan - this is very impolite and rude. one of my philosophies of my life is and has been that you get what you pay the good monies for. if you pay the less then you get the less. you can not expect to be served the veggie feast pizza if you are paying the price for the pani puris. if someone in juhu beach sells you the pizzas for the price of the pani puris and the pizzas are not as excellent as the pizza hut pizzas then you must not complain you must also not be rude to the persons making the cheap pizzas. you have the choices: if you want the pizza hut pizzas go there and not to the juhu beach. similarly you must not expect to be treated like the royal families when travelling in the deccan.
the deccan airways has the pleasant staff on the ground and flying too. they did the jobs they should very well. of course you can not expect the staffs to give you the free food items when you are travelling for the so cheap so you must pay for the food stuffs you eat. I took my own foods with me and shared it with my friends, family and well wishers. the air hostess was selling the samosas and the chips, and some people were buying and some were the grumbling. the flight was around sixty minutes so I did not feel the air strain.
the deccan airlines flights always get the delayed so do not come to the airport and expect that you will catch the flight on the correct time. if you are going to attend an important meeting or get married or something important like that than better if you go previous day or night. it will not be good excuse for the bride or the bridegrooms to tell the barati persons that the deccan flight got delayed. the fault is not of the deccan but of the you because you are the foolish to book tickets on the deccan for such important events which happens once or twice in your entire lifes.
the baggage checkout was also slow. I had to wait a long time for the bags, but that is okay I paid bus ticket fair for the flying so I can not expect the too much stuffs. the air deccan also does not have the frequent flyers program. which means that if you fly in the deccan very often then you get left with the peanuts.
so what I say is this. if you want to be treated like you are the relatives of the dalai laama then you must fly in the good air lines paying the good monies. if you want to fly cheap then you must fly the cheap airlines like the air deccan, but you must not have the high expectations. also remember that the staff of the air deccan are the persons like the you, the me and the family of ours so be kind to them. they are doing the best they can do in very difficult environments. let us all be kind to everybody including the animals.
