Heres a short story about DHAKKAN...oops Deccan. I was eager to reach home in Jaipur as soon as I can after finishing a small office job at Pune. It was my first time I was travelling with deccan via Delhi, I rushed to the Pune airport. I was already a bit late to catch my flight to Delhi at 16:30 hrs and was afraid i’ld be off boarded. my girlfriend told me not to worry as she always trusted deccan for not flying in time.Well she was right, the flight was delayed by one hour. Phase I: I reached the checkin counter, nobody there...suddenly a girl appeared on the desk. I showed her my ticket for the boardin and also asked for a through check in for my next flight to Jaipur later in the evening. To my surprise she couldnt understand what a ’Through Check-in’ means. Very happily (and may be proudly) she told me it was her first day with this job (Gosh they really give on job training).To cut short the Through check in couldnt be done. She handed me my boarding card stating its free sitting today. Phase II: The view at the ramp was wonderful as First time fliers were rushing to the plane to grab the best seats. The plane started on the runway for take off position and the air hostesses started with the instructions. they had not yet finished with it when suddenly a warning message in an electronically processed voice from the captain said ’’crew take your position for the take off’’....and whoa!! suddenly the crew was rushing to their seats. Phase III: In Air...the air hostesses become air-vendors when they come with a trolley of snacks. they’ll offer you the drinks, crisps, cakes and then they’ll ask you for the money ( the look on the people who dont know about this is so funny) and then they’ll demand for ’chhutta money’ as they dont have change. Thankfully no bargains were seen but highly expected. Phase IV: I reached Delhi at 19:00 hrs in safe time period (though I should have reached there by 18:00 hrs), thinkin I can easily catch the Jaipur Flight at 20:00 hours. but it soon turned to my worry when the conveyor belt showed no sign of luggage even after standing there waiting for 30 minutes. Finally my suitcase appeared and I rushed for check in again for my Jaipur flight thinking I ll be definitely off boarded this time, but I recalled my girlfriend’s TRUST with DECCAN...n she was right once again. The review details at the bottom dont have the option which I want to write so I am writing them here..... Number of times Flown: One...and I think that was the last time too Class Flown most frequently: Economy of course (thats the only option you get...may be the pilot sits in the CLUB CLASS) Check in Counter and Flight Attendants: Not found at the counter and they never attend you (the air hostesses are always in a bad mood) Food Quality: Hah...they dont serve anythin inside...they sell it (only water is free...) and the quality of Lays potato chips is same as on ground no matter you re eating it 40, 000 ft high in sky. Punctuality: Book tickets for the previous day of your planned journey then its perfectly PUNCTUAL.
