The database is not at all good and and in order to lure potential customers, they promise gifts, like designer stoles, cds, dvd players and gift vouchers. And after you have paid, they give you the cheaper gift out of the promised gifts.
My own disastrous experience has been as follows:
We registered for my cousin in early july for a six month membership. We were promised a stole and a holiday voucher worth around $8, 000. I was told the stole would reach me in 2-3 weeks and i will have to wait for 6 weeks before i would get it.
We received the stole worth around rs. 150/- sometime in late july. But the holiday voucher has not come even as of today in november - 4 months later. I have been following up with the customer care service and made several calls to their head office as well. After dilly dallying and a hundred "we will look into this" ; today, they tell me the holiday gift voucher was already delivered! And hold your breath -- in july! When by their very own statements, the gift voucher would take atleast 6 weeks to arrive..
Ok, here’s what makes simply marry.com, a website to avoid:
1) the database does not carry even a fraction of the number of profiles that other websites do.
2) it is very difficult to contact even members that you have accepted to contact. (even for paid members).
3) lousy customer service - worse than a call center service, in all these months of interaction, i have not been able to speak with even one person who could do anything more than "pass on your enquiry to the concerned department."
4) not one person with responsibility came on the line. Despite atleast 60 -70 calls made in these past 4 months..
5) no action whatsoever is taken on your complaint, no matter how many times you speak to them. Very irresponsible!
6) and finally, they tell me that the holiday gift voucher was already delivered. More than 3 months back. They do not bother to hear that what i recd was a stole only, not the gift voucher. They lie to your face and think nothing of retracting their own statements. Wow! How easy it is to cheat people....
And btw, did you know the website was down for three days - nov 2 to nov 4 for not paying their domain hosting fees ?
