I have been to Changi Intl. Airport in Singapore twice. My! I have been so impressed by the sheer elegance, convenience & facilities, discipline & beauty that Indian airports appear to me like a Railway Station. In fact some of the railway stations esp. In the Harbour section of Mumbai are better than our Airports.
My first visit was in 1988 and the airport was then swanking new. Stepping out of the aircraft into the airport building made me look in awe. The floors were clean, it was bright and airy and the whole process of checking out was so quick. Sometimes I wonder I may not mind if I have to spend a little longer in the airport to complete the check out process. On the contrary we spend longer time in the dull & dreary airports in India.
Changi airport has all facilities - Restaurants, Currency exchange counter, quick baggage delivery, easy access to transport to take you anywhere in the city.
Even outside the airport the drive out to the city with talled lined trees, well paved roads present a splendid view of the Cleanest country in the world - Singapore.
