Upon reading the review title, the first thing you will think about is the title. what sense does it make? will be the common query. Here is the justification: these guys teach only when you pay them. They do not care if the student has benefited by their lecturing and guidance.
WHEN, WHERE, WHAT & HOW
I joined Sinhal Classes for my ICSE tenth standard exam. Let me make the situation very clear to you: I was an average student gettin around 67% to 72% marks in my examinations. Therefore, to help improve my grades, I decided to take tutions. I myself was not keen on Sinhal Classes since I had heard of dissatisfied ’’customers’’ who were unhappy with the ’’shop’’. Then how did I land up at Sinhals, you ask? Well, I had gone outstation in my IX standard . It was in this period of time that my mother deposited half the money for Sinhal’s tutions. Only half? you ask. Well, half for the GT2 batch is Rs26000, no small amount. Therefore I had to take Sinhals for my all-important Std. Ten exams. I had joined the Grant Road batch at Vidya Chambers. Do not be fooled by the name, as no vidya is imparted here according to me. I had taken Maths and Science from these guys and other tutions for English and Geography.
MY EXPERIENCE
It started out okay in the month of may. The students all seemed eager to learn and the staff appeared to be knowledgable and efficient. Als, this gfact turned out to be an illusion! I’ll tell you why:- when I called up their office, the receptionist was vague and rude. I had called up to confirm the timing as I had been unable to attend that day! Since students from other schools made up the majority of the crowd there, I could not contact my peers as I did not have their phone numbers. Another problem is that scholar s , know-alls and average people like me are bunched up in one classroom! Each student’s learning pace is different, which Sinhals has failed to understand. As students of other schools are also present, no one has done the same amount of learning! For example, in Chemistry, I had not been taught Metallurgy in school. but people who had been taught Metallurgy acted over-smart and scholarlike, preventing me from understanding the topic.
HOW DID I COPE?
It was very difficult for me to cope. I had to take separate tutions for Chemistry and Maths. This meant additional expenditure and unnnecessary time wastage! But anyway, I managed. I have burnt my fingers, you do not burn yours!
THE STAFF
They do not care what happens to the students! Okay, with the possible exception of Aggarwal, who is interested in teaching and makes sure that the student learns. He takes private tutions also.
MY OPINION
In conclusion, I would like to say that Sinhal Classes is for the exceptionally gifted bookworms out there! Average and normal people, learn from my experience! I hope my review helped you!
Thanks to Sinhal Classes, I got only 69 in Science whereas my average in other subjects is 85%. Thanks for that, Mr. O.P. Sinhal.
