Im writing this review to share my experience recently. I bought a Mahindra Bolero ZLX top end model on 17th Oct 2012 from Sireesh Auto, Hosur Road, Bangalore. Though I bought a top end model with full cash payment I didnt get a discount of single penny. That was disappointment no. 1. However, I was inclined with the deal due to hugely successful bolero engine performance.
2 months after the delivery, vehicle odometer touched 5000 KM hence the service at Sireesh Auto, Hosur Road, Bangalore.
I had listed around 12 items to be addressed in the service. Following are the items along with the status of fixes :
spoiler brake light fused - DONE
clutch/brake pedal covers worn out - DONE
rear door setting required as it doesnt open properly - NOT DONE
fog lamp cover loosened needs to be tightened. - NOT DONE
wheel alignment to be done - NOT DONE (i was told that they dont have the facility)
coolant had spilled under the bonnet hence cleaning to be done - HALF DONE - not cleaned well
general washing of the vehicle inside, outside and under - NOT DONE (could see the dust and dirt)
wheel cap of one of the wheels lost and to be replaced - NOT DONE
indicators doesnt turn off automatically at times - NOT DONE
voice messaging system plays "reserve fuel" message when tank is full. - DONE (need to wait for next refill if this is true)
headlamp alignment - DONE
acceleration of the vehicle dies down at the peak of each gear and needs 2nd stoke to retain the peak acceleration of the corresponding gear speed. - NOT DONE - Was explained by the technician that this is the new Bolero feature and not a defect. When asked what is the advantage of such feature the technician was unable to explain. For me this is still a defect with the BOLERO or the technician is unaware of the fix.
Also, I dropped my Bolero at the service center at 9.50am on 28th Dec and got my vehicle delivered on 29th Dec 5pm with above issues.
I was charged Rs 3384 for the free service which is way too high compared to my previous Hyundai Car for 6 years !!
My concern is when Mahindra is unable to put a quality check on issues like mentioned above why do they tag such service centers as Mahindra Authorized Centres ??? does that mean that Mahindra is OKAY with such compromise on their proven engines ?? its a pathetic situation that I paid 8.76lacs on road price for the vehicle along with extended warranty and I get such a treatment on my 1st free service visit.
Im already contemplating to check with my trusted local "UN-AUTHORIZED Mahindra" garage/mechanic to take care of my vehicle.
Regards,
A disappointed owner.
