Summer Vacation- time for excitement, fun, relaxation and complete bonding with the family through recreational outdoor activities. When it’s summer, we usually go to the best beaches, chilling out and spending time those people dear to us. And of course time to feel the inevitable scorching heat of the sun.
But don’t worry because there are ways we can protect ourselves from it while enjoying this best time of the year.
Listed below are the helpful things I do to protect myself during summer:
(I hope it will be useful and effective for you as well)
Caring For the Skin*
The first thing that’s usually affected is our skin. All we just have to do is apply lotion with sun block and moisturizer whether we’re going out or not ‘coz even if we just stay at home, the air still can affect our skin and may loss the moisture it has.
After I take a bath and just planned to stay at home, I use Bath and Body Works’ Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Cream(costs around$9, USD). It has soothing effect unlike ordinary lotions that we use. It really makes the skin soft and it doesn’t feel sticky when you apply it. So I must say its best for this season as it’s light.
For outdoor activities, let me suggest Coppertone Lotion with spf45(costs around$5-7, USD). It’s best applied when you plan to go to the Beach or Resorts wherein your skin will be exposed. It is really made to protect our skin from darkening and drying due outdoor activities like swimming. Most of all, it’s safe to apply on the face and neck area. Kinda feel sticky on the first application but when you take a plunge, it will feel better.
Caring for the Lips*
Yes, I said for the lips.
Our lips also need our attention for protection. Lips are very sensitive and it easily get dry on extreme weather condition- could it be winter, summer, etc. If not chipping of the skin, it sometimes look pale and dry.
One reason why I’m able to maintain my lips soft and moisturized even on summer is, I always apply lip butter no matter what season it may be. It’s part of my everyday routine and its useful. The best product for this so far which I’ve tried is, Lip Butter Nut Noix from The Body Shop($5usd).
Caring for the Face*
For the face, try to apply powder with sun-block protection before you go out and don’t apply too much makeup. The powder helps absorb the oil that comes out from our face which can also help prevent us from having pimples.
But what if you’re doing outdoor activities? Bring with you wherever you may go an oil absorbing film for the face and dab it on the surface to give a fresh matte-finished look. In this case, no need to re-apply powder and the result is even more pleasing. A pack of Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Film costs only$1usd.
For the best facial wash this season, try to use Galderma’s Cetaphil Gentle Facial Cleanser. They are specifically formulated for dry, sensitive or compromised skin. It is hypo-allergenic, soap free and non-comedogenic. Meaning it’s really safe even for the most sensitive skin. It suits for summer because it won’t dry the skin, as in. Since it’s soap-free expect that it’s not bubbly and it literally feel like you’re using a lotion as a facial wash. At first it feels awkward but it’s worth it. Promise. Cetaphil is kinda expensive but it’s worth it. I’m not sure about its latest cost but last year I was able to purchase the big pump-up bottle for almost$20usd.
Last but not least, drink as much water as you can.
It is the best therapy we can give to ourselves and to our bodies internally. We can get lots of benefits from it. Natural Fruit shakes and juices are also very refreshing and rejuvenating, so instead of soda, replace it with seasoned fruit shakes instead.
So far, these are all the guidelines I personally do and it was really effective for me. I hope it will also be helpful for all of you.
