We bought this car approx 9 months ago in Chennai. Initial impressions very good. On the 2nd day of purchase found the Oil Warning Lamp blinking. On checking there was absolutely no Oil in the sump. Called the dealer ship and they expressed regret and I think they also offered to top up the Mobil.
No further incidents, continued to be satified with the car. Very sturdy and smooth and returned almost 22 kmpl on highways.
The car was due for first service after 15000 km. There is only ONE FREE Service and that too everything is chargeable! The Bill was about Rs 9000/- for the first free service!
Then there was a bill for a few litres of Gear Oil. In the past WE HAVE NEVER EVER topped up the gear oils. When I questioned the dealer- they told us OILS are consumables. When we told him that we have never had to replace Gear Oils even in Ambassardors and PP’s- they wereadamant. So we ended up paying for GEAR OIL during the first service!
Spares for the car are hard to come by and you should expect months of delay in some cases.
SKODA and their dealers should first sort out the spare parts issues and then sell the vehicle -
