Its been just over a year owning skoda rapid ultima edition petrol .Got my 1st free service done last week.
I have driven around 4 different cars before skoda in my 16 years of driving and before buying skoda I took test drive of almost all cars in that price segment and took a year to finalise my purchase .i had also considered honda city 4th edition which is brilliant but I went ahead with skoda simply because I have always been a skoda fan since I took test drive of skoda octavia in the year 2001.
Now coming to this car its incomparable to its competitors be it nissan sunny, renault scala, duster, hyundai verna, vento, ford ecosport, ertiga, xuv500 only honda city is the car which in terms of performance comes close to skoda rapid.
Engine of honda city is of superior quality its refined you can feel it while driving or even while standing outside you wont hear a thing, skoda is way louder even a petrol engine makes sound.
Built quality of skoda is top notch beats honda hands down only vento comes close as its parent company of skoda. Interiors of skoda again scores over honda.Honda feels more plastic and cheap .
Ultima comes fully loaded so its value for money compared to honda .Drive quality of skoda rapid is amazing it feels so firm and assured even on high speeds.It sails smoothly over the poorest roads of mumbai.Easily absorbs the potholes .There is a vast difference in drive quality compared to other cars in this segment.
Mileage in city is about 9kms per litre and on highways i’ve got upto 17 litres per litre
Now most talked about skoda maintainence YES it is heavy on maintainence but thats the price you’re ought to pay for a quality product.
