I purchased a Skoda superb Petrol 7 speed automatic in 2009 from Tafe access Bangalore. Used for not more than 10, 000KMs. I have had problems in realibility of Gear box & other parts of the car. Recently about 2 months ago on a rainy day water entered into the exhaust pipe.
Knowing little bit of car mechanics, without starting the car, I first tried reaching Tafe access 24hrs helpline and called them at least 30 times in the night but no one botherd to answer my calls. Next day they toed the car to the garage & after a 3 weeks comes back with an estimation of 14 lakhs to repair the car!!! They claim that gear box & engine is damaged as water has entered the car. I am VERY sure that just the starter is damaged which can be fixed in less than 50k but SKODA is cheating their customers to meet their service & parts sales target
I would request everyone NOT to purchase ANY SKODA products coz they charge for the entire part if just a nut or washer is missing. You will endup spending more than its required and more frustrating part is you need to call them 100 times to followup. There is no pro-activeness and no respect to customers.
If they 24/7 helpline had answered my calls, my car would not be in the garage for nearly 2 months now
Verdict - NEVER BUY SKODA CARS. BUY HYUNDAI OR SUZUKI INSTEAD.
