I wanted to buy an Induction cooktop and time was not of essence. So I chose Snapdeal because they offered the cheapest price(about 100 rupees less than others) and a promise to deliver within 5 business days. I did not know that this seemingly simple procedure will cost me so much headache.
The deadline arrived, but on the online tracker on the app, the product was still in its early stages. Maybe the app doesnt get updated too regularly, I thought. The deadline passed and I sent an email to them, to which they said it will reach soon. It was another couple of days when we got restless and asked them again, to which they said that it is up to the delivery office now, they have done their job. The app was no help, the product tracker is absolutely useless. The final time, I called them with a resolve of cancelling the product, to which they say we have no mechanism. You just have to say no to the guy who comes to deliver it.
Before this, we had received the number of the guy who was supposed to deliver the cooktop. We called him and he said he is just around, will deliver it before the evening. That was not to be.
When we called for the final time, at the same time we received a call from the delivery people asking us in a rude tone "Do you want it delivered or not?". I said "No", but I regret not lashing out an expletive or two. He hung up the phone immediately and that was it.
They are competing in an incredibly crowded market. My advice to them, we are valuable to you. Talk nicely and do care about the promised delivery dates. My advice to you, stay away! Amazon and Flipkart are doing a much better job!
