In line with the subject, Im writing this review as a grievance against the snapdeal team for the kind of service orientation they have for their customers. First of all, they never update the order page and inturn they expect you to call them over the charged telephone line just to end up with false promises and absurd assurances from their support team.
Order Placed on: 2014-04-16 with a Estimated Dispatch Date On or Before Apr 21, 2014.
First contact made with the customer was on 21st April, seeking an update as the order page kept showing the same status info. as on day 1 of the order. They assured me that they are trying to procure the item on priority from the supplier and will fix this in 48hrs time.
Second contact made was on 24th April, same story will fix in 48hrs time, falsely assured for the second time and said they will dispatch it in 48hrs for certain this time.
Got annoyed on 30th April 2014 and logged a support Request #6303911, They wrote something like this " **We are trying to deliver the product as soon as possible. Once your product is shipped from our side, you will receive an email and SMS notification with the courier details.**"
May 1st email them back for an update as this was a gift for my dad. You should observe something in this context, they update you only when you chase them for an update. Update reads as below
"We are writing to inform you about the status of your undelivered product. As per the update received *from the courier company, your order has been returned to us due to technical.* We understand your disappointment and apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused to you.
We request you to kindly place the order again, so that we will be able to deliver the product to you.We look forward to continuing serving you and hope that you will continue ordering products from us.

This is the worst thing that ever happened to me. Courier company returned the product owing to their own technical reasons? Quoting as below

I have friends with Bluedart and they confirmed that the tracking No: wasnt legit at all.
When requested to re-open the order and dispatch the item, they simply insisted to order again. Order the same product with no discount as it has been 2 weeks that I was ordered last.
They replied " **Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you may have experienced. We request you to treat this incident as an exception and not as a yardstick to evaluate the quality of service, we strive to achieve for our valued customers.
We do appreciate hearing from our customers, as their comments are vital for us to continue improving our services.

And a customer care survey pops in asking for a feedback, meaning they considered it as solved and closed the case triggering the poll for feedback. What an annoyance!
When replied back to the old chain, the replied 11hrs ago as below.

We value your business with us and we acknowledge your concern in regards to your order.
Our team is working on the concern unfortunately we are unable to get a favorable response. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you may have experienced in respect to the issue.
We look forward to continuing serving you and hope that you will continue ordering products from us. If there is anything else that we can do to reduce your inconvenience, please feel free to contact us.

You should see that they are eager to close the case and not about solving the issue that has risen out of their absurd customer care strategy. If it the reason with the Courier company was genuine they why was there no update on the order page, nor an email notifying me on the delay. At least post me with the courier tracking(at least fake) well with in the initial 1 week of placing the order.
Snapdeal is a platform for small time traders to sell their cheap/small scale industry products and definitely not worth trying reputed foreign brands.
Im totally sad closing this review as my dad keeps asking me for an update on his sunglasses that he liked most & I cannot tell him that Snapdeal conned me and made a fool out of me.
