Order cancelled, 21 days for refund

I ordered a Logitech M215 order no. 324792926 ( https://snapdeal.com/product/computers-computer-peripherals/logitech-wireless-mouse-M215-11605) from their website on 26th January 2012. On 31st, I receive a mail from them stating.


Dear Customer,


We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Please note due to overwhelming response received for the product we have exhausted our stocks for the Logitech Wireless Mouse M215. Since the fresh stocks are not expected to arrive in the near future, we are offering Logitech Wireless Mouse M 185.


When I replied stating I don’t want an inferior model at the same price that I paid for the higher model, the customer rep responded by saying that it has the same features. If it is the question of same features why could they not offer a higher model, M235? I mailed them for a cancellation and refund to which I did not get a reply.


I called them up today, 2nd February, and their customer rep told me that it will take 21 working days to process the refund. When I asked how can it take 21 working days to process a refund, she told me and I quote. "In snapdeal, this is the only way to process refunds, and it takes 21 days" What sort of a scam is this? First they take an order for a product without keeping a stock, after that they have the shamelessness to offer an inferior product in return without even talking about a refund. And when the customer asks for a refund they want 21 working days? Is this a scam to collect interest free money from customers?


Worst experience I’ve had with any e-commerce website, I’ll rather pay more on flipkart than order on this fraud website again.
