After a string of decent shipments, I began trusting Snapdeal(the only big Indian e-tailer) only to be disappointed with them. This journey began before the Big Billion sale and the diwali rush. I had ordered for a water purifier from Snapdeal(Order ID: 3016237992) and received the same at my place after a week . Decent service.
The outer packing was fine so I went on to open the product. I was in for a huge shock as I did that. The inner packing was shabby and had torn pieces of a blue dart AWB(The product was shipped by a different courier company). The packing was extensively taped.
Once the packing was opened, I sank to my knees. The product polybags were torn at places. As I went on to pull the product out from the case, I noticed a FLIPKART cardboard supporting the product. FLIPKART of all things!
The sudden blood rush led me to ignore torn and maligned thermocol pieces, scratch marks on the products, Inalsa cardboard inside the packing. And the last nail in the coffin was that the product looked USED!
Snapdeal did confirm the reverse pickup and it happened in a week. The refund was also made almost immediately. But, it was too much adventurism for a product being bought on a e-tailing platform.
Not that Im not going to use Snapdeal again. But it leaves a bad after taste in a rapidly growing market segment.
