Helmet Return Request Rejected by Snapdeal

My purchase: I was looking for a mint-colored(same color of my bike) helmet. Found Vega Verve Motorsports Ladies helmet(m) on Snapdeal and readily ordered. Price: Rs 1295. I got delivery 4 days later. Unboxed and found 2 issues:(1) Color is definitely not mint, more greenish and(2) M size is very tight even for a lady with medium-size head. Immediately raised a return request and one day later got a reply. I am quoting the reply verbatim here:


"Your Vega - Verve Ladies Helmet(Mint), Order no. 15070730953 is not covered under our TrustPay returns policy.


Your item cannot be returned/replaced for the reason you have specified. Please to view our TrustPay page. You will find all eligible/ineligible criteria for returns/replacements under the question  "What are the TrustPay coverage details?"


Why no return? I got confused and thought if I was missing anything. I went over again the purchase page. Nowhere this ineligibility criteria were mentioned! Yes, the Terms and Conditions mentioned about a slight difference in color, but even if we take the color variance issue also, mint and greenish are never the same!


Who would accept an ill-fitting item? Nobody would accept an item that is one size small, and when I tried to return, Snapdeal redirected me to a vague term. In the end, I got stuck with an ill-fitting helmet and my Rs 1295 gone down the drain!


Should I read the term first? Even a very cautious buyer like me got fooled because nowhere the terms and conditions warned me about this loophole. Had I read, I wouldn’t go on and buy in the first place! And, the terms Snapdeal is bragging about have no logic also because the size mismatch and color mismatch are one of the most common reasons buyers return items, and all the ecommerce sites are happily taking back goods with no question asked. Then why not Snapdeal?


No empathy for customers: In the days of cutthroat competition, this is a clear arrogant, anti-customer, and unprofessional attitude shown by Snapdeal. If they wanted to challenge the status-quo, first they need to improve quality of service and stop harassing innocent customers for a few hundred and thousand bucks. I will not buy anything more from Snapdeal in future and would strongly recommend everyone I know against buying from Snapdeal.
