I bought an air conditioner from Snapdeal because they were offering the lowest price. However, I realised it was a big mistake. I ordered the item on 1st April 2014 with an estimated shipping date of 3rd April. Till 7th April there was no update on the status of the shipment and all it showed was "In Progress". I raised a complaint to which I got the usual "Sorry for the Inconvenience" reply.
Finally on 7th evening I got a message that it has been shipped through GATI. So I check the status of the shipment and it showed that the docket number does not exist. On 8th April, suddenly it shows that the product is being shipped from Chennai and will be delivered on the 10th. Surprising, I am from Bangalore and are there no suppliers in Bangalore?
So basically, I buy an ac on the 1st, it gets delivered on the 10th, then they raise a request to install it on the 10th and the guy will install it on the 12th or the 13th? Beats me. And my money is stuck in this transaction with Snapdeal for 15 days interest free. Now that’s how they are making their money is it? From interest free float funds? I think we should sue them for keeping our money for 15 days and not providing the goods in time.
I would definitely not recommend Snapdeal to anyone henceforth. There are far better e-tailers in the market, and amongst the lot, Snapdeal being the worst of them!
My first and last purchase on Snapdeal! I don’t see these guys last for long in the Indian market unless they pull up their socks and get their act together.
