I have written positive reviews for Snapdeal in the past because I had several positive experiences with them. Until now. I submitted a negative review last week about a Snapdeal vendor, MAA SARASWATI TRADERS, because the vendor totally ripped me off, but I didn’t post it under "Snapdeal" because I wanted to give Snapdeal a chance to resolve the problem.
Since doing one’s job correctly and efficiently is considered a heinous offense in this country, I would have been shocked if the problem had been resolved the same day I contacted customer service. However, even by local standards, I see no excuse why the problem couldn’t be resolved within 3 working days.
I contacted Snapdeal last week about this and was told it would be taken care of. I received no communication from them for days on end, then finally yesterday I called and was met with apathy, then when I told them to give me the CEO’s contact information the person on the other end finally started to take notice and assured me the matter would be cleared up soon. Today I received a notice that Snapdeal will send a courier to pick up this jugaad junk peddled by Maa Saraswati Traders.
Snapdeal needs to crack the whip on it’s customer service department and start being more discerning about the vendors it partners with. Vendors must be strictly prohibited and thoroughly warned in advance not to indulge in false advertising as Maa Saraswati Traders did when they advertised what looked to be decent sheets, but in reality sold unfinished, unstitched, highly defective sweatshop rejects. At the very least, they should take customer service seriously, especially if they want to keep up with a customer-friendly competitor like Flipkart.
