Snapdeal.com has deprived me of my own Rs. 77000/-

My only intention behind posting this review is to warn you guys to not buy anything from Snapdeal.com


I’ll tell you why, Pls read carefully, atleast the points in BOLD:


I want to buy a new laptop, and zeroed down on a particular Sony Vaio model, the SVS15116GNB.


To my bad luck, this product had be discontinued recently by Sony, and no shop or online mall had it, except for Snapdeal.com.


I was still skeptical, and to make sure that they actually had the product, I called them up 3 times. In all these 3 calls, they pretended to check their inventory and I was assured that the product is in stock and will be delivered as quickly as possible.


I didn’t suspect anything else. Having successfully used online shopping safely on flipkart and ebay several times in the past, I simply went ahead and paid them Rs. 77000/- on the 20/12/12. Estimated delivery date was 26th.


I waited till 26th, then from the 27th I called them multiple times. I was just given false assurances and asked to wait a little longer.


At 3 of those occasions, I was promised a call back by ’The Supervisor’. Those calls have still not happened.


On 30th, they cancel the order themselves. I WAS SHOCKED!!!!!


Today I sent them an email, and I was directed to their terms of sale page.


Apparently, the terms of sale page has so many clauses which deprives the customer of even the most basic of rights. Its really pathetic.

AND THE REFUND WILL TAKE AROUND 3 WEEKS. BECAUSE THEIR BANKERS ARE SLOW!!! WOW.. NOW BLAME THE BANKERS!!! Earlier when I had called them, they had told me the refund would happen in 48 hours. Now they are saying 3 weeks. Can’t believe these guys.

Therefore, my contention, ==in summary, ==  is:


1) You are not a good shopping site if all that your call center guys are trained to do is lie and sound comforting.


2) You are  not a good shopping site if your own people dont know if you have a product in stock. Install a stock management system for heavens sake. Don’t wait for your customer to suggest that to you. How do you think ebay or flipkart or healthkart do that??? Idiots..


3) You are the most pathetic shopping site if you take such a huge amount as Rs. 77000 and provide such terrible service. Don’t even bother to call. Very nice!!! Don’t ever expect me or anybody from my family or friends to buy anything from you. Good bye...


4) You are terrible, if you promise a call back and don’t bother to call back. I waited, I wasted my time. I repent it. I repent having ever clicked on your website url. Wish you never even existed.


5) You are absolutely unprofessional if you take THREE WEEKS FOR REFUNDS. 3 WEEKS?? Why the hell?? You wanna sit on my money and earn interest on it? Is that your business strategy??

We understand your concern regarding the fast refund but friend this time limit is set by the banks. But we request you to please share with us the Order Id of your product and we will help you with this. Sorry again!
