Their marketing strategy to attract customers is absolutely unethical. They show a false price on the website and then pretend to be give a huge discount on it. I recently bought a product from Snapdeal, the MRP mentioned on the site was INR 1950 and some 60% discount on the price- I got lured by the heavy discount and immediately ordered it.
When I received the product in hand, the actual MRP was only around INR 1090 which is fine if only I had got the same product that I had ordered. Snapdeal sent me a base model of the product with less inclusions/features.
I escalated it to their Customer Care - found out that it is a complete waste of time to following up with a bunch of people who have no intention of resolving customers issues once they have your money.
TIP: Don’t get lured by the heavy discounts, its a cheap marketing strategy aimed at influencing your buying behaviour. Try other online shopping portals like Ebay, Amazon or Flipkart.com
