Snadeal goes back on it's terms! - Resolved

Okay, I usually have had good experience with Snapdeal, so writing this is a bit disappointing.


I ordered for "Bacca Bucci Enthused Navy Blue Loafers" from Snapdeal on 3rd May. The product was listed in ’Deal of the Day’ and I bought it as a gift for someone close. It seemed to be a good purchase for the price.


8th May - I get a message saying, "Dear Customer, we regret to inform you about the delay in the shipping of your order 974191462. The order will be shipped with 3 business days. Team Snapdeal". This really ticks me off but I decide to wait as I had intended gifting it only by the 15th of May.


15th May - I am unable to trace a customer care number on their website and give up!!


20th May - The money I paid for the product is credited back to my account.


21st May - I log in to see the status - Cancelled. NO INTIMATION WHATSOEVER OF WHAT HAPPENED TO MY ORDER!!! I see what Snapdeal’s terms for cancellation are.


It clearly states "Your order may have been cancelled because of any of the following reasons:


Non-availability of the product(s)


Inaccuracies or errors in pricing information


Problems identified by our fraud detection department


We may put additional checks and verifications or seek more information before accepting any order. We will contact you if all or a part of your order is cancelled or if additional information is required to accept your order."


I finally manage to source the customer care number and speak to a representative who tells me "Sorry ma’am, but it is out of stock" EXCUSE ME? The SAME product has been listed for Rs. 179 more for the last few days on the website. "Out of stock" my foot.


Besides, even if Snapdeal does have the right to cancel my order, I have the right to be INFORMED about it.


Very bad, Snapdeal. Didn’t expect such un-professionalism from you guys.
