I have purchased 10+ products from snapdeal. From small die cast car models to 3D monitors and most of these purchases went trouble free. I will concentrate my review on the issue I faced a few months ago.
Snapdeal has worst customer care ive ever seen. Their CC representatives are the biggest liars and they try everything to cheat their customers.
I had purchased 2 die cast scale model cars from snapdeal 7 months ago. I got wrong models delivered to me so I contacted their CC and reported this issue, I shipped both models back as requested by CC and provided shipping details to them. I got shipping charges refunded to my acc within 10 days but the price I had paid for those models wasnt refunded even after 20 days since I provided them courier details of return shipping. Everytime I called their CC, all they had to say is we are looking in this matter, well call u again in 2 days (which of course they never did). They even lied to me twice that their database is showing that money is already refunded to me, I had to remind them that only courier charges is refunded, not the price I paid for those models. Finally after~20 calls to their CC and spamming thier facebook page, joining other angry Snapdeal customers in a facebook group and contacting their CEO(no idea if that worked). They finally refunded my money after **exactly 50 days*
They do offer some of the best deal you can find on e-commerce websites but their Customer service Needs a LOT of improvement.
Giving 2 stars out of 5. One for good, attractive site design and another for great prices, 3 stars are off the score for the experience I went through in above mentioned case.
I would say avoid snapdeal if possible, or dont expect any customer support from their side if your deal goes wrong.

4-july-2014, Tried ordering a product using their snapdeal mobile app (android), after making payment thru debit card, when I got redirected back to snapdeal order confirmation page, I got a message sayinginternal server error, please try again after sometime. thanks
Payment was authorized so I lost Rs.450/- without any order number from snapdeal. There is no trace of any order inmy orders section either. Emailed snapdeal about this issue. will keep updating this review.
*EDIT2**: Issue solved within 12 hours, order successfully placed for the payment I had made earlier.
