A Trip to Somnath Temple

I have visited Somnath temple a year ago, in the month of October that time the climate was cool and breezy. as all, we know Somnath temple is Lord Shiva temple and it is believed to be one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in India, it is located in Gujarat.

The best part of the temple is located on the seashore. The temple was destroyed so many times by the Portuguese in the ancient period. Finally, it was reconstructed in the year 1951. now it is protected by the government very carefully. We are not allowed to take any of our things inside the temple like cameras, mobiles etc.

best time to visit the temple is in the evening because we can sit in the temple and enjoy the view of the sea. in the night time around 8, they are conducting light and sound show, in that they are delivering the history of the temple and the importance. The entry ticket for the show is about 25 to 30rs.

The temple was built with gold, diamonds, ruby and some other valuable stones in the ancient period but the Portugues theft and destroyed the temple. now the temple is constructed in the Chalukya style. they have constructed some mandapas at the side of the temple, In that, they have made the story of Lord Shiva. that one was very informative.

Everyone has to visit this temple. if you’re not a devote then you should visit the place for its architectural style and mesmerizing beauty.
