One of my most and all time favourite singer and person. Isn’t it sound contrast with the Title !
I actully happened to be a trained singer and I used to admire Sonu like anything. Even in most of my stage performances I chose his tracks. Not only because I admired him but it suited to my voice too : -p
Whenever I used to hear his voice , it always gave a strike to lead in music. The voice of Sonu was a part of my life. I used to see his all interviews. But somewhere I always felt he portray smthing else in front and he is smthing else, his voice seems bit diplomatic and made one.
I happened to be in hotel where Sonu stayed as it was his show that day in city. Can u imagine what would have been my state of emotions ? Was simply freak down with that news. That he is in same hotel. Just to have his one look I waited in lobby for hours. And guess what the moment I saw a person whom I admired whole my life surrounded by bunch of bouncers. Was simply in some aura and was just looking to him and was trying to atleast have a handshake or selfi as any fan want to.
He passed the lobby and I was behind him with few more fans. One girl was coming from front and she saw him and she was in complete shock and Sonu gave her a hug. And me and one person was behind and was trying to take a selfi. The other person asked Sonu a selfi and he shouted him like a hell. It was a shock for me. Bring biased to opposite sex is completely understood. But the tremendous difference in treating same sex fan was really heart breaking. I could not find guts then to ask him for anything. Let me clear you all that, as I said I was in same hotel so inside hotel was no crowd at all, if you may feel he may have reacted coz of crowd. It’s only me one more person and his bouncers that’s it.
And he went for his show. It was just beside the hotel and I heard whole show from the room of mine. With such a bitter experience I had no courage to again see him, but the admiration towards him made me again go to lobby and wait for him and try to atleast a selfi which will be a lifetime memory.
He arrived at lobby with his bouncers , I almost again chased him till the elevators and asked too many times Sonu sir please one selfi ! He didn’t bothered who may be following him. Again I should tell you all now this time it was no one other than me who chased him for same. No, his bouncers didn’t touch me also. It’s him who didn’t bothered a person who is saying please please.
Ya, it’s totally a individual moment and can’t perceive things from it. Being a celebrity that attitude is understandable also. Really ?
But you know it didn’t bothered me much that he didn’t gave any attension to a single person chasing him for a request for hand shake or selfi. What bothered me is his biased behaviour and arrogance towards a fan ( The other person who he shouted like anything without a thing)
Common sonu, if you happened to read this, accept the fact that you don’t much respect your fans. The air of celebrity made you arrogant. Short tempered and self obssesed. On one of shows, if I remember right , the anupam kher show you accepted things about being it.
Being an idol you have some responsibilities just take care of those. May you grow to all heights of success ( which you already had)
