Been using this hdd since 4 years and got it corrupted once. Had no other means but to format it. There was no way to retrieve my data back. Better go for Seagate Backup plus. This is the only issue I faced till date.
The hard disk performs very well. No lagging. It’s pretty fast actually with USB 3.0. You would use 1 TB pretty quickly if you’re a student(you would probably store most movies and tv series and games too.:P) and it’s better you go for 2TB or more.
The hdd well built and doesn’t weigh much. The material used is pretty classy and hard(unlike seagate which is made of cheap plastic). The design is also good with the very proportional logo at the center. Not very aware about the service and support.
I wouldn’t say it is a value for money as you may lose your data if you get it corrupted.
