I have Sony Bravia kdl-32w650a purchased in Oct-2013. Few days back my TV was went totally blank when I was trying to do a software upgrade.
I registered complain with Sony Authorised service centre about the issue with my TV. they told me since the issue happened during software upgrade it will be serviced free of cost.After 4 days technicial visited my home and checked the TV.
He opened it up and just checked continuity of circuit board from Data cable connector pins to board circuit just one inch away from the connector pin. And he conluded that the LED TV motherboard has been damaged and it will cost me Rs.9900.I realised he is just bluffing since he didnt check any components properly.
My concern here is if tv went off during for sw upgrade(which was pushed from sony headend) why I should pay, and I was haapy with my old software and was not reuiring a upgrade as such.
Now suppose today I pay 9900 and get it corrected but if tomorrow again same thing happen? I would never buy TV or any Sony brand product and would suggest same to new buyers. Since Sony is manufacturing TVs with very less life expectancy. And their authorised service centre are there to squeeze more money from you by making you belive that you need to make costly replacements. No integrity at all.
Never ever go for sony TV / Sony products.
