I bought a Sony-40 Fhd Led TV-40EX430 in February 2013 in Bangalore. Last Tuesday(9th September) suddenly it stopped working. I logged a complaint on Wednesday and my service request number is - 208735579. The service personal came and reviewed it. He said that the motherboard is not responding so that has to be replaced. The cost of that motherboard is 6K. So we have to book it with an advance amount it. I gave an advance amount of 3K to book it. On Friday they called me to inform that they will receive the product on Monday evening or Tuesday. Only after that they can replace it. Now today(15th September) when I called them up to check the status, they are saying it might again take 2-3 days more. They have no idea when they will receive the part.
And today(15th October) when I asked them when did they registered the booking, they said 11th October. I was surprised as on 10th October, when I paid him the advance amount I requested them to book it today, so that I can get my product as quickly as possible. At that time he committed that the booking will be registered today as soon as he gets back to office.
When we went to buy a tv the salesmen out there convinced us that we will get the best after sale service. Now is this what you call best after sale service? That we have to wait for approx a week to get our tv repaired? Then why in the initial stages you commit that you will give the best service?
Sony promotes his products to be one of the best in the industry, but when it comes to services, they lag far far behind in terms of quality services.
I have no other option but to wait, but I will NOT RECOMMEND anybody to buy any Sony product because of such after sale service and false promises.
If you cannot deliver parts and services on time then you shouldn’t commit of such at the buying stage.
