Sony Ericsson is taking over the mobile handsets market by launching handsets one after the other which are light years ahead than models of other companies. The number of features and its quality is unmatched. There have been several reviews written regarding the K750i model since its launch, but I would like to add another point that has not been discussed till now.
The K750i is a great phone in terms of features, music quality, camera quality. But one very unfortunate thing happens when you buy a mobile phone is that as soon as you buy your dream phone another one is launched with better features and almost at same price. With the K750i and other similar phones in its category like W800i, W550i, K700i, etc. your phone keeps on getting better and better.
I am talking about the Sony Ericsson Update Service. Its a web based service which updates the firmware (like an operating system) of the phone. These updates are released periodically like every 3-4 months. You are required to download a 30 Mb software to use this service and a broadband internet connection is preferred (256 kBps or greater).
The changes that happen in your phone are:
The volume of the speaker increases by a large amount while playing mp3’s.
The responsivity and speed of operation of the phone increases.
Bugs in USB transfer and Bluetooth are resolved.
An mp3 folder is created in the Memory Stick Duo for storing of songs. (Previously
not available)
- Some other minor features like camera click sound is absent in silent mode, free
memory listed in Mb instead of kB.
This process is completely safe if you have a reliable computer system and internet connection. There is no loss of user data like pictures, contacts, etc.
So when the correct software is loaded, your K750i can become as good as a W800i. So try it out !!
