I was looking forward to Sonyericsson Cybershot Camerafone for its superior imaging capabilities. Though available in Delhi without bill last month, I waited for purchase with official Sonyericsson warranty and bill and purchased it 5 days ago and what a hidden Pandora;s box of delight this fone has been for a mobilephile like me. Major features of K-790 are
2G: GSM 900/1800/1900MHz network compatibility Cyber-shot™ 3.2mpx digital camera with auto focus Dedicated Xenon flash 320 x 240 pixel TFT LCD display with 262, 144 colours Memory Stick Micro (M2) memory card support 64MB internal shared memory Bluetooth Wireless Technology Infrared and USB connectivity (PictBridge support) Stereo FM radio with RDS SMS/EMS, MMS, and e-mail messaging with T9 predictive text NetFront™ web browser with RSS feed reader PIM applications MusicDJ™ and PhotoDJ™ applications PlayNow™ MP3 ring tones Outstanding feature of this fone
The K790i’s most outstanding feature has to be the Cyber-Shot™ digital camera built into the back of the handset. Earlier just 2 MP cams on fone to take photos were sufficient Sony Ericsson have gone one step better and teamed up with the Cyber-Shot™ range of digital cameras from Sony to provide a 3.2mpx digital camera with dedicated Xenon flash The digital camera is of the highest quality and as well as looking awesome on the 320 x 240 pixel TFT LCD (262, 144 colours) of the K800i, when printed out on professional photographic paper they look just as if taken by a ‘real’ camera. The Xenon flash is unlike anything you’ve ever seen on a mobile phone, and the advanced landscape oriented camera application has a host of advanced features.
My Conclusion.
The K800i is an amazing handset. It includes high-end features like , a 3.2mpx digital camera, Bluetooth with the A2DP profile, QVGA LCD display, HTML capable web browser, Java application environment, and e-mail messaging capabilities.
The 3.2mpx digital camera on the K790i was way beyond my expectations. It runs rings around the current competition (Nokia N80) thanks to the auto-focus and Xenon flash that you won’t find on any other mobile handsets This is the most complete handset in my opinion.
Flip side is small 64 MB M2 stick bundled (just enough to take 20 photos), and high cost of market m2 stick-1 GB that is Rs. 3500.
