I had been planning to write a review of this phone for about two months and the only thing I can say about it is that “It has only looks … but it could not even serve some basic functions(like a comfortable talk)…please read more to know.”
There is only one thing I can say for this cell phone “ Unchi Dukan Phike Pakwan” means “ The quality is not as expected and in accordance with the names involved with product”.
-------------------------------------------------Cons---------------------------------------------------
-The main stuff – the soul of the phone ‘the transceiver’ of the phone is very weak so while talking all the times u will hear the breaking voice and at the other end too the voice is not very clear and breaking.
And what could be worse if you are taking on the phone and suddenly you came to an area where there are big buildings and trees around, the call gets disconnected most of the times. Same is true with cloudy atmosphere. Same is the case when you are in a building…you have to look for some open space or some exposure to outside to talk properly (though not comfortably as the voice will have breaks)
One thing I want to say here that this is not limited to this Sony Ericsson model but there are other cheap good looking models which have this problem. As one of my friend own another coloured model and he is planning to sell it.
-The ring tone of the phone is very feeble and you are certain to miss calls in traffic. There could be a work-around if you keep the vibrator mode on all the time. But still this is one of the disadvantages.
-The speakers of the phone are very weak and it is impossible to hear anything on roads ( even if traffic is not much ).
-The battery is not very strong so you have to charge it daily.
-Bad news for all those who like to hear latest ring tones on their mobile phones … you can not download ring tones on this set (at least this was true before march 2004, though there is a Sony Ericsson web site from where you can download stuff…for that you have to register and what not .. after that also it is not free… which gives only one option if some of your nice friends forwards you some ring tone :-) )
-Last but not the least, it not sturdy so you can’t afford to drop it on ground even by mistake… whereas Nokia (the best in terms of sturdiness) sets generally survive these kind of accidents.
--------------Pros (I feel not good enough to make it fit for buying)--------------
-Nice metallic look and light weight.
-Nice menus, though most of the people don’t find it user friendly…I liked it in terms of aesthetics.
-Nice MMS features.
So finally I just have to say that it is not at all worth buying. But still if you get knocked down by its look, best of luck. Infact many if my friends wanted to purchase it after they first saw it but I gave them this advice not to go for its looks as finally I also sold the phone and purchased a new one.
