Sony Ericsson W550i:
One Helluva phone
For people who like changing their phone’s look and feel this one is just what they need.
I’d been using Nokia phones for the last 4 years and was bored playing the same games, not much options to change things around unless I have to pay!!!
Pros:
Outstanding n/w coverage as the antennae is outside the phone.
Superb sound quality
Best in town music player as it is one of the Walkman phones with Super Bass and an equaliser
Amazing Headphones with rubber cusions which block out 90% noise and it gives very good effect with Bass on-this means you do not have to increase the volume to ear-damaging levels to listen to the drums better-Hats Off to the designer.
1.3 Megapixel camera + Video recording which is far better than Nokia 1.3 megapixel camera: The nokia pics look smudged. (compared against Nokia 3230)
Flashlight for the camera-Wow the flash can be used a torch-its superbly bright.
2 skins 1 blue + 1 Orange-when I change them people always ask -new phone :p
Company provides a data cord (You have to pay for this for Nokia which runs in thousand for an original Nokia)
256 MB internal memory
3 superb games
loads of superccol themes
gprs + infrared + bluetooth
Phone can act as a USB drive
Very thought out details like drop down word options when writing sms’s
Video DJ: to compile videos
Audio DJ: to compile audios
Sound recorder: I recorded a 2 hour lecture (8 MB which is quite good) and sound clarity was fab
FM Radio: WOW
Message Counter:Very thoughtfull
Solid metallic buttons which add class to the phone
battery lives for 2 days even with heavy usage.
Quick access buttons for camera, walkman, volume ctrl, phone status...
Separate slide button for locking/unlocking (my mom can unlock my sony-eric easily not the nokia’s) u can even open the phone to unlock it
a red flasher when the battery is 5% or lower
metallic mesh for the cavitites which look just awe-inspiring
2 Game buttons
u can tilt and zoom pictures
Cons:
A lil heavy but what the hell
A lil fat ...again what the hell
The swivel needs to be closed from the side you open it... oops
No extendible memory ...
If the phone falls I doubt it might end being damaged, so a lil delicate.
Battery life not as good as Nokia’s but 2 days is good enough
Same socket for charging / earplugs / data chord :(
All in all very well engineered phone... a masterpiece. Very nice features and easy to use.

Update as of 1.5 years- battery life still 2 days
I have dropped the phone a lot of times, sometimes from such a height I was afraid the phone would be able to take the insult, but surprise surprise nothing.
Now cons- The single socket for ear-plugs/charging/data gives me some trouble
Phone restarts sometimes when I dial from the contact list, and sometimes I need to restart phone due to some corruption in the alerts and pictures. (the ones that pop e.g. "No Messages")
