When I saw this phone, I mistook it for the z550i (I own z550i). When I looked closer, I found that this one was more superior and improved version of the z550i. Reasons??.. read on! First thing is that the z558i has all the features that are with z550i. In addition to that, there is a new Handwriting Recognition Technology on board. (stylus input). The stylus is supplied with the phone, and is one-third the thickness of an average pendrive, and as much long. The stulus looks good too! The outer looks of the z558i are deadly. Here, the shape of the Horizontal display hsa been tweaked a little, The mirror has been given the shape of a rhombus. And the shape of the rim of Camera is square (the z550i has a circluar camera rim).
Those who didn’t yet see the model, you will be absolutely bowled over by it’s deadly looks! Interior design is identical to the z550i. I saw the Sterling Black model. It has Brown and Black outer casing, and the inner layout is pearly white. That is, three colours in a single phone.. The features of the phone include: stable bluetooth connectivity, 1 GB expandable memory (Memory stick Micro), 1.3 Megapixel Camera (4x zoom), FM radio, Music player, T9 text messaging, Calculator, Applications, Stereo speakers, NetFront Web Browser, etc. The fact that this phone (comes in business category, but can be used by non-business people) is very cost-effective, when compared to other Business phones in the market.
The z550i cost me around Rs. 8000/- (while it’s market price at the moment is Rs 7200/-).. But the price of z558i is just Rs 9220/- (that may cost you anywhere around Rs 9500 and 10000. That is a good value for money. You will not regert your purchase. The one bad thing is that this phone wants MemoryStick Micro as its expandable memory. The MemoryStick Micro costs around Rs 2000/- for just 512 MB!. Also, there is little availability of the accessories of this phone.
