I have got Sony HD-EG5/P 500 GB free with one laptop purchase before some month. I have used this drive about six to seven month and I must say that this HDD is really awesome product by Sony. I have seen than price of this HDD on online shopping sites is quit big than other competitive products by another brand.
Pros:-
1) Sony HD-EG5/P 500 GB is slim and stylish. This HDD have glossy black color and its looking very attractive product.
2) This HDD come with USB 3.0 and give us super speed for data transfer and capable to give up to 5GB/Sec transfer rate.
3) HD-EG5/P 500 GB have enough storage as mentioned in product and we can store lot of data, movies and videos in this HDD.
4) This is just plug and play device and its can be detected in all operating system from window xp to window 8.1.
5) This device has some more attractive and awesome features are Data Transfer Accelerator, Backup Manager, Password Protection Manager and FAT32 Formatter, this all can help us to give speed and protect our data as well easy usage without hassle.
6) Sony HD-EG5/P 500 GB have three year Sony Warranty, most of other HDD come with only 1 year warranty.
Cons:-
1) Price is really high than other brands and products, we can get 1TB HDD in this price range.
2) If you want use it as media device and need connect in Television than you need to format drive with FAT 32 else its not working in it.
Final Thought
This is awesome HDD by Sony, but price is really high and its big nagative point of this product. I am not recommending this HDD due to price only, else in product there no any issue.
