I Purchased Sony Playstation 2 about a month back for my children. Till this day I have not been able to dislodge them from their place in front of the console. The product is excellent. Most of the games available for PS2 has excellent graphics and sound effects and grips both children and adults alike, moreover the console is easy to use. To add to it, Sony has been reducing its price every 6 months. If you have time on your hands with nothing to do, this is a wonderful toy. We can also play DVD’s and audio CD’s on this station and also online PS2 games. Sony however cautions you that prolonged use might cause permanent damage to picture tube of your TV.
I would however like to point out that the set is not compatible with any other similar products. For example, we can’t play PC games on playstation. We can’t even play Sony PSP game CD on PS2.Compatibility with other products is a serious drawback of PS2.
The second irritant is the memory card. A 8MB memory card is available for an additional Rs. 850. I personally feel that when memory has got cheaper over years, The cost of memory card is rather steep(Sony could have incorporated inbuilt memory in PS2). Again, the set is not compatible with any othe memory device for eg. pen drives which offer higher memory capacity for lower price. All this has translated to better business for Sony and so the company has done nothing to rectify it. But overall I recommend it to both young and old alike.
