I am sure the title would have shocked you! But I have a very good reason for the title. Simple reason being, that the number of titles available for PS2 far outnumber the ones available for the XBOX or the PS3 for that matter, not to say that Sony would not do the same with the PS3, but just that they are lagging behind at the moment! What good is a great gaming console without many titles, you are bound to run out of them if you are a true gamer!!
Back to the review, I have had this console for almost 11 months now, modded out coz I cannot afford the cost of the game DVDs, hence my warranty is void even though its within the first 12 months of purchase, but the beauty of the matter is that I did not need the warranty in the first place, right when I took it out of its box I knew that this was THE console, and THE best one around!
All the games that I have played on the console have been great including FIFA07, 08, Cricket, God of war, GTA, Brian Lara cricket, Burnout -Dominator, NFS Carbon, MW etc. all purchased at the fraction of the price of the original, save for the F1 2006, which is indeed an original disc, but which seems to have given up the ghost already, anyone would have probably expected the cheaper discs to wear out sooner, but no!! The ORIGINAL disc has failed, which is rather surprising, not to mention that I was psyched out at having paid out a 1000 bucks for a DVD that worked for around 10 months, while the fake ones are still working!!!
The response from the joystick is exceptional, very smooth!!, I purchased an additional Memory card (8MB) for around 600 bucks, which I must warn you, is necessary if you need to save the progress of the games that you are more than likely to play, there are 2 Memory card slots which will accept 2 cards of 8MB each, 16MB cards are available in the market, but dont work too well as I was told by one of my friends who is a complete gamer!
I am looking to purchase a Gaming wheel which I am going to buy as soon as I find a supplier here in Bangalore, will let you know how I get along with that in due course!
All in all a great buy, the best gaming console around right now, purely for the number of titles out there!!
I have never had to use the service, but im sure they would be right up there. The only grouse is that they dont provide a second controller!!!
Price wise, when I purchaed it , I paid a good 10 grand for it, I must say though that it was worth every penny!
