I thought that the PS3 was a fitting gift for my son (ok, for me too) for topping his school at his exams. Hotfooted to the Sony outlet and bought the new PS3 while the PS2 was given away to a friend. All was well for 2 months and then the remote stopped working. Went back to the store who directed us to the service station at Goregaon.
And thats where the nightmare began.
Since the problem was with the remote (I had tried other remotes with my console and they worked fine) I took the remote to the service station. They sent us back stating they "needed the entire system". Went back the next day with the entire system. And pat comes a job sheet with a terse "we will get back to you"
Two days, nothing happens.
We call. "Technician not in today, " is the reply
One more day, nothing happens
We call. "Technician went early today so he didnt find time to have a look at your console"
"Ok, so when will that happen?" we ask, keeping our temper in check
"Not sure. Maybe tomorrow. The technician will take a look and then we will send it to our main service center at Andheri. Then they will see what needs to be done"
So, my console has been lying there for three days, nobody has taken a look, I dont know whats wrong with it and when (if at all) itll get repaired.
So, I bite the bullet. My sons birthday is coming up on the weekend. I decide to just buy a new remote and never trust Sony on service again.
For good measure, I posted on their facebook page. No response.
Not to be one to give up, I write to them. And I expect no response.
Like I said earlier, "SONY" is a four-letter word.
So is "SUCK"
