Ther should be more loving atmosphere at school. Kids should be treated more kindly and with more love and respect. Kids tatrums is not ’making a scene’ but a behaviour issue that has to be handled with gentleness and maturity. It hurts me to see special needs kids treated roughly when not obeying. Their brain doesnt work like ours always, We should understand that.
They are indeed less fortunate and helpless in many ways compared to our ’so called normal abilities’ and so we should always keep that in mind and respond appropriately whether we are a parent, a teacher, a stranger on the road or anybodyelse. Thats most important: the right attitude.
They need self esteem and lots of encouragement to come up in life because they know their limitations.they know they are not ’normal ’ like us. They dont need sympathy but love and care and respect. who knows , one day we could also have a special need kid among our family.... and then our life changes forever.
I know since I am a mom of a developmentally disabled kid. I am not asking for anything superhuman but only that which defines and binds all humans: sensitivity , compassion and carng for others.
