The South City Mall is one of the best malls in Kolkata, according to me and many of my friends. Most of the weekends we spend there, sometimes with friends, sometimes with relatives. My relatives came from Ujjain recently, I took them to visit Kolkata, and South city mall was one of the places where we went. The parking facility is superb, and we don’t have to wait in queues for it. People need to go through the security check, which is absolutely necessary now a days. After entering the mall, you can find yourself cheered up instantly. There is a current in the air which most of the people like, the music is good. There is not very much rush in the weekdays, so it’s the best time to visit. Spencer’s is at the basement , a very good quality of masala bread and a variety of fresh vegetables are available there. They also have a good ranges of chocolates of course :-) Opposite to Spencer’s, there are many shops with great collection of bangles, and designer jeweleries. I have seen many shops there, with a huge collection of cotton dresses and dress materials..........Planning to visit those next time I go there. If you want some nice boutiques and designed dresses, there is a variety of choices from Satya Paul to Ritu Kumar. Nice footwear collections are available in Metro, Inc.5, etc. You can visit Reebok, Nike and Adidas for sport wears, and sport shoes. But I think those things are too over priced. And if you are a music lover, Planet M and MP3 are waiting for you. Explore Levi’s and Pantaloons for some nice western outfits..........There is plenty of choice. If you have kids along with you, visit the link shop once, you can’t resist yourself from buying them cute pens, and pencil boxes and crayon, and so on........Shop, and do the bit of window shopping also. Do this till you are hungry. Now visit the top floor..............A great choice of food is available in the food court, and among them, my favorite is KFC of course. Try the chocolate crusher, they really make it superb! By now the wallet is empty, but both the stomach and heart are filled with happiness, I suppose. It’s the time to leave, but every time I leave this place, I decide to return here next time, and that also very soon. Nice place indeed!
