The other day while I was in town for a meeting and happened to go over to Phoenix Mills for lunch. Completely unplanned as it was, the first restaurant that we spotted, we went in. I was quite delighted at the sight of the restaurant on the inside. Spaghetti Kitchen was one of the restaurants in Phoenix Mills that I had not been to earlier. Compared to the other restaurants in the vicinity, this one did seem to me a better option. The first hitch that we encountered however was the fact that it was almost three oclock and they had closed the service upstairs and downstairs was a no smoking zone.
So could one smokle downstairs? No was the answer. You could go upstairs have a smoke and come back down was a suggestion that came from the waiter. They later made an exception and provided for a table upstairs. So far so good. Everything on the menu looked great. a little over priced maybe, but given the place and the locality, I guess it was normal. I ordered for a salad and some garlic bread while my friend ordered a chicken unsizzler. The place was spic and span and the neatness of it was much more attractive than anything else. We were just discussing that when my friend happened to bite on a glass piece which came from his plate. Shocked at first, he dug into his plate to find another piece of glass.
The manager and the chef were summoned, both of which couldnt care less had my friend eaten the glass piece and had his tongue cut by it. They did apologize and refused to take the money from us but it didnt quite help. I for one am not going to step into that restaurant again where the chef doesnt know how a glass piece can enter in the dish that he has prepared. There are occasions when you find a strand of hair in your food or even a piece of chicken in a vegetarian dish, which one can comprehend but a glass piece... is somethign that you cant digest. Quite a pity that my first visit to the restaurant had to be such a scarry one.
