How bad can a Supermarket get. Well if you visit Spencers Hyper at South City Mall especially in the first week of any month you will know. The store is enormous - claimed to be 75, 000 sq. ft. - Wal*Mart or Metro would have been delighted to have the space. But unfortunately RPG cant manage it. At the beginning of every month you will find most of the staples out of stock - no sugar, no atta, no washing soap, no cooking oil etc. Furthermore when you do find what you want, you will be charged a wrong price. Beware of those mark downs.
Recently(yesterday) the store claimed Rs 10/- off on Amul Calci+ i.e. Rs 25/- per carton but when I examined my bill at home they had charged me Rs 35/-. Now to correct this problem I have to face an almost non-existent customer service. This is the second time this has happened to me and the last time it did I literally had to "make a scene" to get any attention to my problem. My advice, stick to Food Bazaar - they have a stable collection of items, the service is pretty good - at least someone hears you out and its a much better managed store.
Spencers will keep getting customer until they stop those Rs 100/- vouchers when you spend over Rs 999/- but at what cost. You cant buy Integrity.
