Spice was the first cellular service provider in Punjab when very few people in the state had access to mobile phones. In a way it brought about the mobile revolution in Punjab. Now, the scenario is completely different and chandigarh ( capital of Punjab) has the largest ratio of mobiles to landline in India. Of course, times have changed and Chandigarh now has reliance mobile, airtel, cellone and spice as cellular service providers.
I was a satisfied Airtel customer and it was the Spice Corporate package which attracted me towards Spice. The package details are:
1) Free 200 SMS. After 200 SMS @ 50 p per message
2) First 75 mins
Mobile to Landline : 80 p per minute
Mobile to Mobile : 40 p per minute
3) After 75 mins
Mobile to Landline : 1.75 rs per minute
Mobile to Mobile : 2.00 rs per minute
4) Preactivated STD-ISD
5) Preactivated Punjab Circle Roaming
6) No Security and Monthly Rental of Rs. 150
I instantly got hooked and got this connection. The customer service was quite hassle free and there were no problems in getting it activated.
I found the network extremely strong ( full always in chandigarh) and billing enquiries were convenient just by calling toll free no. 886. I mean what more do you want ? The bill comes on time and is transparent to the extent that they even put up a negative balance of 90 p if you pay them extra!!
SMS is instantly sent though delivery reports are sometimes late. Also, I dont know whether the network is that good outside Punjab. All in all, at present SPICE is the best available option in Chandigarh and Punjab
