Perhaps the most helpless moment in everyday life is when one ends up having to wait in an airport lounge. They is nothing that can be done. The screen already reads "DELAYED" and no staff from the airlines is around to pacify the queries. As hunger and anger rises, a vulgar mix of irrigation, confusion and desperation sets in. The book one is reading has no appeal, the people around look equally bored, and worse there is nothing one can do about it. Except perhaps write a review about the experience when one gets home.
This above description was me not more than 12 hours ago. I was flying in from Kathmandu. Our flight was around 3 hours late. I understand flights are late, that is the nature of the travel business, but how the airlines conducts itself becomes relevant here. SpiceJet failed to win me as a loyal customer. No one was around to inform us what’s happening. No food was served and no apologies(except by the captain in the flight) was given.
Once in the flight, the stewards were hopping around as if we owed them a favor. On having asked for water, I needed to remind them thrice before I actually got it. Another, issue with Spicejet is, I think, they have no conception of what the prices of good actually are. Rs 60 for a small and fairly horrible tasting coffee is not business, it’s a scam!
I went to Kathmandu around 10 days back, and the same thing happened. That time my flight was delayed by 4 hours. And all I got was a fake smile and a ridiculousness apology. I have been travelling with SpiceJet for a while, and the service seems to have gone down in a spiral. I actually liked SpiceJet, they are inexpensive, and the service was OK. But after this I will reconsider my choice, and so should you.
