BEWARE

I had booked 2 tickets to fly to chennai. However 12 hours before the flite, we had to cancel the flight. I AM AWARE THAT I DONT GET MY MONEY BACK. Thats not a problem. I called their no. and advised them my cancellation. I was told I could use balance amount - cancellation amount and use it anytime within a year.


I asked the airline to confirm. they said they would and never gave me any other calcellation no. I was told the same confirmation no. with which I booked ticket could be used to claim tickets later.


however I was shocked later to be told by spicejet that my tickets were declared as no SHOW.. that they ought to have given me a cancellation no. They said in a rather firm and arrogant tone that I had not completed my cancellation procedure on the phone. When I can swear I did all I was supposed to do to cancel on the phone... all they could say is that they are sorry... but they kept defending their employee and said it was my responsibility to complete cancellation on the phone (and this was a very adamant tone). I know its a low cost carrier.. but that doesnt mean they should not train their people properly in either cancellation procedures.. or tracking calls to know which of their employees erred.


so people BEWARE.. of booking as well as cancellation on SPICEJET!
