I flew from Bangalore to Delhi recently and this time I had the opportunity to fly Spicejet.
The reason I chose spicejet was for the fact that I had a lower budget and secondly, they claim a 99% on time performance.
I made sure I had my credit card with me, hence nullifying any problems that I might have faced.
*PROs:
*1) Check in - Very smooth, did not have to wait long (unlike Kingfisher, the last time), staff was extremely helpful
2) On time performance - Flight took off ontime and save for the Air traffic at Delhi airport, the flight would have landed on time too! As it happened we landed 15 mins. late not too bad!!
3) Staff- All staff that I dealt with were very pleasing and they seemed to display an attitude of service.Which makes the flight all the more pleasureable
4) Aircraft - The aircraft appeared brand new, or maybe it was maintained that way!!
Cons:
*1) Food: Only a Cookie, candy and water was provided inflight, what surprised me was the fact that they did not even have a facility to supply food inflight even if a customer was willing to pay!!
2) Seating: The seating was not exactly what you would call comfortable, infact the leg room was pretty cramped, but then I guess its down to the fact that the aircraft was a Boeing, which is probably not as comfortable as the airbus, which is used by most other airlines!
All in all the flight was pretty good and Spicjet sure can show all the other low cost carriers how to run their business, except that they need to be able to provide food inflight if customers are willing to pay!!
Air ticket cost me 3600 bucks which is a pretty fair deal, considering that the flight was on time and it was a smooth transition throughout.
Word of Caution: If you book a ticket online using a credit card, make sure you keep a copy of it or carry the actual card, coz they do check the same!!
