I had a chance to observe firsthand on 23.1.09 that SpiceJet has operated its flight on Kolkata - Bagdogra sector inspite of its well established competitors- Jet Airways and Kingfisher Airlines - not operating flights on the same sector, around the same time, due to bad weather.
Related incident has been fully covered at:

*Its beyond my understanding how is it feasible.*
Either **SpiceJet is taking enormous risk** for its passengers safety by flying them into bad weather, while other airlines are cancelling fllghts.
Or, *SpiceJet is right in operating flight *while the blame lies with Jet Airways & Kingfisher airways for not operating flight, due to commercial reasons. This is hard to believe, because both Jet and Kings flight were fully booked.
Can someone spell out what are the **relevant guidelines** which all airlines are supposed to follow in case of flight cancellations on account of bad weather? This would go a long way in clearing this confusion - which has a big impact on passengers safety.
