It was a long overdue visit as though we keep visiting City Centre Mall, we never got around to visiting Saute, a Multi cuisine res on 4th level. Since we had some time at hand and it was almost lunch time, we decided to give it a try. It seemed to be a nice cosy place, though it was almost empty when we entered.. The interior is ok with four large plasma screens.
Thankfully, they were silent and music being played was soft. We were not really in mood for a full fledged lunch and initially ordered for some beer (Foster as they did not have Carlsberg) and wife tried a mocktail - Strawberry Garden. Beer as usual was fine but Strawberry Garden was a disaster. The fingerchips that they served were really good.. crisp and just right without any oil dripping.
The non veg platter was something to really write home about. It was mostly chicken (Kali Mirch, Reshmi Kebabs, Tandoori and Tikka) and some grilled prawns. Prawns were not so great but chicken preparations were simply fabulous. Just rightly done, tender and succulant... not too much spice and hardly any traces of oil. We loved it so much that we got one platter packed for the kids at home. Butter nans that we ordered were also good.
Wife tried another mocktail-- Saute special.... a worse disaster than the previous one. So if you go there.. stick to something simple like maybe a coke...
There was no choice in desserts and we decided to skip that..
In all it was a good experience particularly because of cool ambience.. real good service and great non veg platter..
Because of the special Food festival in Navi Mumbai we got 10% discount on food and found the rates to be reasonable.
They could do with some more choices in desserts.
Do try it if you are somewhere near or in City Centre Mall.
