Spiderman2 has lessons in abundance for those willing to learn-
1> There is a hero in all of us. (I dont see him)
2> Superheroes are humans. (and vice versa??)
3> Its so easy to give up but hard to fight on. (all the time...)
4> To be a hero you dont have to be rich. (Batman was rich, wasnt he?)
5> If you create something more powerful than you, one day you will
succumb to its power and so on....
Spiderman2(hereon s2) concentrates on the human face of a superhero- hence a stinker for kids.I could see kids sit up (2 of tehm actually, sitting beside me) their chairs when spiderman appeared on the screen and lay low when Peter Parker was on screen, and most of the time they lay low....and they almost cried when spiderman announced on screen he is spiderman no more...
The movie should be watched for Alfred molina as Prof Octavius. He is a power house in acting and shows well the turmoil he goes through when the battle between man(him) and the machine(his invention) rages.
Peter parker the brilliant but lazy boy is working crazy to pay his bills attend classes and SAVE NY City.MaryJane is frustrated with his Kabhi haan kabhi naa attitude. Aunt may is seething to give a
piece of her mind to whoever was responsible for the death of her dear Ben.
To sum it all Mary Jane is engaged to his own bosss son, hes guiltridden about uncle bens death, cant help himself or aunt may financially, gets fired from his job, his prof threatens to fail him ...umm you almost forgive peter for giving up being spidey, though I very much doubt its the nerve racking song of the street singer singing about spiderman.
After a science experiment goes haywire , the kindly brilliant prof becomes a monster with metallic limbs.A refreshing change from Green goblin. From the looks of it I think they are planning to bring back
Green goblin in S3, I hope not. The whole city looks to spidey to save it from this new monster and
our hero doesnt disappoint.
Watch out for the scenes on the subway, and any scene with Rosemary (aunt)
and Alfred Molina(DOC OCK) in it.
This one is for the Big kids.....SIT BACK AND GET ENTANGLED.
